FOG HOLLER (USA) — European tour 2020

Mysteriously lonesome, hard driving bluegrass from the San Francisco Bay Area.

FOG HOLLER (USA) — European tour 2020

The enigmatic Fog Holler first arose in the foothills of Echo Mountain CA,
the product of an intense love of bluegrass and traditional American music shared by banjoist Casey Holmberg, guitarist Tommy Schulz, and bass fiddler Noa Laniakea.

After years roaming those southern hills, honing their craft and spreading the high lonesome sound, they vanished.

With the belief their music could be pushed further and harder, they retreated to the misty oaken hollows of Northern California. After months of silence, rumors of a spectral band that channel the spirits of bluegrass past and future have begun to spread ‘round all corners of the deep Frisco Bay.

The Fog is rolling in…With five-string banjo, guitar, bass-fiddle, and soaring brother harmonies these troubadours traverse tradition, time and tact, delivering soothing melodies that refresh the soul.

“Fog Holler has created a wonderful EP of original Bay Area acoustic music. The five originals, including two instrumentals, allow each member to shine but still retain a sound that is uniquely their own. They strike a nice balance between bluegrass, ragtime and folk and use the somewhat unusual trio of bass, guitar and banjo to their advantage. “The Poison Voice” and “Under the Light of the Moon” are particularly strong as a hard driving bluegrass tune and a lovely instrumental waltz that features beautiful bowed bass.”
-Jacob Groopman, Front Country
